The boys passed yet another test tonight at taekwondo: they are now brown belts, four tests away from black belt. Four looooong tests away, but that's for another day. Tonight was celebration all around: the boys passed, Two knew the meaning of his pattern for the first time, and both of them broke boards for the first time. Actually, it was the first time they'd ever tried. When they brought them out to the children I crossed every digit I have; I couldn't believe they were going to try! But they did very well - One succeeded on his second try and Two made it after several more than that. He's small and quick, but he doesn't have those tree trunk legs that make One so. darn. strong.
Here they are in their triumph:
Amazing. Truly amazing. They grew in my womb, small and defenseless, and now they can kick in doors. A day for miracles, to be sure.
