I hate to say this, but I am almost ready to believe that the vote needs to be taken away from women. I mean, for Heaven's sake - there are woman out there actually dumb enough to believe that Sarah Palin shouldn't be the Vice President because she's a mom?! What rock are you living under? I can understand some patriarchal nut like Doug Phillips believing this garbage, but that women would so denigrate their own abilities is beyond me.
Listen: women who work can be great moms. Period. Stay-at-home moms don't have a monopoly on virtue. Never mind the fact that, if she is the VP, the Palin children will have their mom around as usual and they will have their dad 24/7. Because last time I checked, there weren't oil rigs, snowmobile races or commercial fishing in Washington, DC.
Just so you know, I'm not linking to the women who have put out this ridiculous argument. Does that sound dishonest to you? Frankly, I'd rather not give them the traffic.

I've been reading this too. They say she should be home with her pregnant daughter and special needs son. They can't believe how quickly she returned to work after the birth of her latest baby. Would they be saying this about a man? Nope. Plenty - make that most - working moms are great moms and great professionals.
You're right - no one would EVER say that about a man!
They only think that REPUBLICAN moms shouldn't be elected. I don't think anyone ever questioned another mother of 5 named Nancy Pelosi.
That's true of the Democrats saying this, but I'm hearing it from "conservative" Christian women just as much. They really think Sarah Palin is a bad mother for working full time. I've also heard them critisize her for having a nanny - if she does indeed have one now or in the future. That totally flips me out, because our nannies were gifts from God Himself, and both helped me to be/become a better mother.
I'd also like to observe to those women who think nanny = bad mother: you're voting for Obama - do you really think Michelle Obama doesn't/won't have "help"?
Bottom line: it's not a valid argument to make against anyone. Period.
